Backup livestream ingest

Backup livestream ingest in Flowplayer OVP is a fallback stream ingest source that provides a backup in case something goes wrong with the main stream.

Whether a livestream is using a Flowplayer defined livesource or not, you are allowed to have a fallback stream ingest source to make sure there is a backup in case something goes wrong with the main one. Information about the two options are shown in the livestream details window.

Enable the fallback stream ingest source

To be able to actually use the fallback stream ingest source, it needs to be enabled on the livestream page in the details window. This is applicable whether the livestream uses a Flowplayer defined livesource or not.

Disable the fallback stream ingest source

If you decide the fallback stream ingest source is not needed anymore for the livestream, it can be disabled in the details window.

Enabling the fallback stream with the Platform API

The fallback stream can also be enabled or disabled with the Platform API using PUT /v3/livestreams/{id}, or set when the livestream is created with POST /v3/livestreams:

• stream.enable_fallback_stream: true enables the fallback stream ingest source, false disables it.
• The fallback stream is not available for remote livestreams.
