Geoblock configuration

This document describes how to implement white and blacklisting of one or multiple countries.

Whitelisting

  • Start by navigating to Workspace settings , where you can edit your Workspace’s custom fields.

  • Add a custom field named geo_whitelist and press “Update custom fields” for saving the new field.

Custom fields

  • Now it’s time to activate geo block on a video or livestream asset. This is done by navigating to “Videos” and selecting a video. Add one or a commaseparated list of ISO 31661 alpha2 country codes in the geo_whitelist field under “Metadata”.

  • Now you have geo blocked your video. You can test this by embedding the video and try to view it from a non allowed country. If block you will receive following message instead of the player. Notice that it can take up to 10 minutes until the geo block have full effect everywhere.

Blacklisting

  • The blacklisting is very similar to the whitelisting process. Start by navigating to Workspace settings , where you can edit your Workspace’s custom fields.
